ENELI – AN INTRIGUING DRAMA ON STAGE
The stage play “Eneli” is based on the power of Christian forgiveness. It demonstrates that forgiveness, though very hard at times, is possible. It is the only way out of any devastating situation and the negative power can be turned around to achieve a higher goal.
Eneli is based on a young girl who decides to marry her university dream lover and they relocate to his village to live. On arrival, Eneli is rejected by family and friends; and there is nothing she can do to make herself accepted by all. This eventually leads to a breakdown of her marriage but just as she was about leaving the village, her sister in-law decides to confess the many wicked plots devised against her, resulting in a change of her status. Eneli is unable to handle the situation – revenge and leave or forgive and stay in the village? A very tough decision – she chose to stay and went on to lead her village community in winning the district singing competition for her ward.
Eneli was first produced in December 2012 and again in 2014
